Jake Jensen
1. What is your role at UAS Labs?
I am an Assistant Application Scientist II.
I work in the Research and Development department of the Wausau Facility. I am primarily responsible for new product development and continuous improvement of existing formulas. My areas of focus are working on the new formulas with sales to create custom formulas for customers and scaling up from lab-scale work to pilot scale trials in the Wausau Production facility.
2. Where did you go to school and what did you study?
I went to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and my major was Biochemistry.
3. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy playing in a weekly volleyball league with some awesome co-workers, camping, working on home improvement projects and anything that gets me outdoors.
4. Favorite Food?
Tacos. There are just so many ways to customize them and make it different every time.
5. Any pets?
Barkly – we have had him for about a year and a half and he is a rescue dog from Missouri. We are not sure on exactly what breeds he has in him, but plan on a doggy DNA test at some point to figure it out.
6. What was your first job?
Grounds keeping and Maintenance at a Campground in Eagle River. My favorite part was being able to get outside every day and enjoying the summer weather.
7. When did you wake up this morning and what was for breakfast?
6:15 AM (after snoozing my alarm 3 times) and ate my usual Blueberry bagel with peanut butter and jelly.
8. Teleportation or flying?
Flying, I would love to be able to travel anywhere I would want, when I would want. I also like the idea that the journey to get there would be an adventure as well.
9. If you could have dinner with any famous or historical figure, who would it be?
Meriwether Lewis or William Clark from the Lewis and Clark expedition that explored west of the Mississippi in the 1800’s.
10. Any New Year’s Resolutions?
Stop snoozing my alarm and get up the first time it goes off.
11. What do you enjoy most about working at UAS Labs?
Coworkers – when I moved to Wausau my wife and I did not know anyone and after working at UAS for a few years I have gained good friends from working at UAS.
