1. Describe your role at UAS Labs?
I am the QA Supervisor at the Madison facility. Within the QA function I help to assure quality is followed and adhered to related to Good Manufacturing Practices, good documentation practices and keeping the facility up to date on regulatory requirements. I also work very closely with our co-manufacturers. Quality is my top priority when it comes to our products.
2. Where did you go to school and what did you study?
Bachelors Degree in Science with a Human Biology Degree from UW-Green Bay followed by Achieving my Cytotechnology Certification at UW-Madison.
3. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I am big on sports! More so watching these days than playing. I do get the itch again from my athletic past and will be all in when helping my kids practice for their sporting events. I am big in supporting my alma maters as well as the Packers and Brewers.
4. Favorite food?
Pretty much anything with carbs! Being Italian, it can be difficult to control those cravings, but I try the best I can to limit free eating pasta and bread. Sour dough bread bowls with clam chowder soup is my all-time comfort food.
5. What is something you have done or plan to do on your “bucket list”?
It has always been a desire to go to Destin Florida to see those white sugar sandy beaches, bright blue ocean water and sherbet colored sunsets. I was finally able to make the trip with my husband and 3 little kiddos this past summer for a weeklong getaway. IT WAS GORGEOUS! So many things to do and such amazing sights. We were able to check mark more boxes on our bucket lists during this trip such as jet skiing in the gulf, renting a pontoon boat in the gulf and having wild dolphins come up to our personal boat! My advice for coworkers wanting to go with kids….. bring family along so you can get away for a night or even a few hours to get a brain break and relax
6. What is your hidden talent?
I have been doing kickboxing for over 3 ½ years now. It’s a great cardio workout and with being a female, teaches great self-defense. I can hold a plank for 3 minutes straight even at the end of a class!
Some people already know this about me, but I love sharing this as its one of the things I am very proud of in my life. I was a gestational carrier two separate times for the same family. I delivered their daughter in November 2017 and recently gave birth to their son in June 2019. It was one of the most amazing experiences being able to build a relationship with the family and helping a family who didn’t think they would get to this milestone in life become parents (TWICE!).
8. What fictional family would you be a member of?
Kind of a random one, and this may be debated on if they are a fictional family or not….. but I would want to be a member of ‘The Golden Girls’ family. Each of those elderly ladies have a unique attribute that teaches/supports one another about how to get through whatever life throws at them. All while, having fun. I hope I am as witty and fun as they are when I get older.
9. You can have unlimited supply of one thing for the rest of your life, what is it?
CHAPTSTICK! I am obsessed with needing to apply Chapstick daily. It must have been from all the years growing up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California doing winter sports where I had to constantly apply it due to chapped lips. Now it’s a habit I cannot break…
10. What do you enjoy most about working at UAS Labs?
I really enjoy the people and that the company invests in their team members.
