1. What is your role at UAS Labs?
Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager
I am in charge of implementing safety programs and policies at both the Madison and Wausau locations. I provide the training and tools for employees to perform their jobs safely. My goal is to raise employee awareness of safety risks, and to identify and correct potential safety and health problems before they turn into a near miss or injury. I also am in charge of ensuring we are complying to environmental permits and not introducing environmental hazards to the community.
2. Tell us about your kids!
I have two amazing boys 7 and 8. They most definitely keep me busy and we are always on the go. They could not be any more different but they get along great and could not make my heart any fuller!
3. Where did you go to school and what did you study?
I went to UW Madison for both undergraduate and graduate school (GO BUCKY!!) My bachelors is in Mathematics with a Statistics emphasis, my masters is in industrial engineering with a safety emphasis.
4. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Eating! I love food and trying new restaurants, one of the many reasons I love Madison so much.
5. Favorite Food?
Depends on the day! In general, I would say seafood.
6. What is something you have done or plan to do on your “bucket list”?
I just got back from a trip to Charleston, SC. The city was even better than I expected and I definitely want to go back.
7. What was your first job?
I worked at a bakery when I was 15. We were able to take left over product at the end of the day so now it is rare you will ever find me eating a donut.
8. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
My amazing mom told me, “don’t ever let anyone else’s actions towards you stop you from being the best person you can be.”
9. If you could pick a new skill in an instant, what would it be?
Woodworking. I would love to have a wood shop and make wooden furniture.
10. Teleportation or flying?
Teleportation!! There is never enough time in the day.
11. What do you enjoy most about working at UAS Labs?
The team and the challenges a new facility brings. We have such a diverse team from all walk of life and they all bring new ideas to the table.
