Describe your role at UAS Labs?
I am a Project Management Coordinator. I oversee the implementation of new products and formulas that get handed off from the Sales Team and Research & Development Team. I also make sure that the new product meets our customer’s requirements and expectations and is set up correctly in our system before moving them to Production.
Where did you go to school and what did you study?
I went to college at Northern Michigan University and studied Biology.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy just about anything outdoors: hiking, hunting/fishing, finding new trails or wilderness areas to check out, riding horses (my wife and I live on and help manage a horse ranch).
I have an athletic and musical background; I play pick up games of basketball/football/etc whenever possible and play a few different instruments (guitar most of all, but also mandolin, banjo, piano, and I want to learn drums).
I have always loved reading and do it whenever I possibly can. I enjoy woodworking projects.
Most importantly, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 11 month old son.
If you’ve never tried a sous vide venison back-strap with a little marinade, served up with some veggies and potatoes, do it. If that’s your thing. A Friday fish fry is also awesome.
What do you enjoy most about working at UAS Labs?
Everyone that I’ve worked with at UAS has been very friendly, helpful and understanding. Everyone has an attitude of “we’re all in this together” and seem to be equally concerned with others’ success just as much as their own.
Currently no house pets, but our ranch has about 25 horses (give or take) and about 28 head of cattle. Also, one Australian Shepherd named Ace.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
For life in general: “Don’t focus so much on making a living that you forget to make a life.”
For marriage: “Peace over justice.”
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I can snap my toes like most people can snap their fingers. Might be a weird fact, not sure.
If you could pick a new skill in an instant, what would it be?
I’d love to instantly be able to play the drums extremely well like Neal Peart from Rush.
If you could have dinner with any famous or historical figure, who would it be?
I’ll cheat and name two. I’d love to sit down and have a beer or coffee (or both) with C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien and pick their brains.
