1. What is your role at UAS Labs?
I am the Sourcing Specialist at UAS Labs.
As the Product Management team and R&D receive a potential new project that contains a raw material or packaging component that we do not currently supply, it is my job to source the item from an existing or new supplier. I request any documentation that may be needed for the item in conjunction with what our Quality team requires. I also assist with procurement and purchasing.
2. Where did you go to school and what did you study?
I earned an associate’s degree in Marketing and went back to school in the early 2000’s to earn a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Upper Iowa University.
3. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Anything that involves exercise and being outside such as cross-country skiing, yard work, gardening, fishing, biking and walking.
4. Favorite Food?
Tough question, but artisan pizza is hard to beat.
5. When did you wake up this morning and what did you eat for breakfast?
5:00 AM daily wake up and had the usual cold cereal covered with seasonal fresh strawberries.
6. What was your first job?
Summer job of pumping gas at a Standard Oil Station in Northern WI for $2/hr. Gas was $0.59/gallon and self-service was still a future concept.
7. What book has impacted you the most?
8. If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be?
The ability to play a musical instrument extremely well like guitar, piano, saxophone, etc. I love many genre’s of music but did not have the patience and foresight when younger to stick with learning music.
9. If you could have dinner with any famous or historical figure, who would it be?
Abe Lincoln. He seems like someone that would make anyone feel comfortable in his presence. He had a ton of wisdom in a humble package.
10. Alaska or Hawaii?
The Hawaiian beach, climate and volcanoes would be extraordinary, but I fell in love with Alaska when my wife and I enjoyed a two-week land and cruise adventure in 2015. I would love to experience 365 consecutive days in Alaska to see if I have what it takes to survive and thrive there.
11. What do you enjoy most about working at UAS Labs?
The people are great to work with. Cooperation between departments is a real key.
