January 1, 2019: Kevin Mehring Elected IPA President for 2019 Term
President & CEO of UAS Labs, Kevin Mehring, has been elected President of the International Probiotic Association (IPA) for the 2019 Term. His appointment is effective as of January 1, 2019.
Kevin Mehring and his colleague at UAS Labs, Dr. Gregory Leyer have a long history of involvement with the IPA. Previously, Mr. Mehring has held multiple positions in the IPA including Manufacturing Committee Chair and Vice President.
Chief Scientific Officer of UAS Labs, Dr. Gregory Leyer has also played a prominent role in the IPA. For example, Leyer spearheaded discussions with the FDA on behalf of the IPA regarding microbial New Dietary Ingredients guidelines. These discussions continue to take place as the regulatory requirements for probiotics are not yet harmonized.
Mr. Mehring is excited to take on this greater responsibility within the IPA and play a larger part in promoting safe and effective probiotics everywhere. Quote from President & CEO of UAS Labs, Kevin Mehring:
